My daughter's treatment at Izmir Çiğli Training and Research Hospital was both very challenging and extremely worrying for me as a father. Although the physical facilities, ward conditions, and some structural deficiencies sometimes made this process even more difficult, there was one name that changed everything for us amidst all these negativities: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Surhan Arda. From the very beginning of my daughter's treatment, Dr. Mehmet Surhan Arda was not only a physician but also a responsible, attentive, detail-oriented person who truly understood us as a family. His tireless, patient care for my daughter's condition, his knowledge and experience conveyed to us with reassuring calmness, was the greatest strength that enabled us to endure this difficult process. Receiving support, not only medically but also emotionally, during a risky and delicate surgical procedure; getting sincere answers to our questions; and experiencing the feeling that 'we are not alone' was invaluable to us. Dr. Arda's kindness, compassion, and sense of responsibility in his approach to patients and their families have once again shown us that medicine is not just a profession, but a matter of conscience. In this process, where we felt the words of our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, 'Entrust me to Turkish doctors,' to the core of our being, primarily on behalf of my daughter Duygu Berru Eryılmaz and my family; we offer our endless gratitude and thanks to our blue-eyed doctor Mehmet Surhan Arda, who embodied these words to the fullest with his knowledge, demeanor, and humanity. We are so glad our paths crossed. Thank you for being there.

First of all, it was a great chance for us to meet our teacher Mehmet. We were sent from a state hospital for appendectomy, but my doctor wanted to be completely sure by repeating all the tests over and over for 3 days, and thankfully, we were discharged. After each analysis, he came to us and explained it in detail. If that wasn't enough, he constantly received information about us even when he went home. We are grateful that we got to know you, I wish we had more teachers like you.

Dr. Arda performed the closed choledochal cyst surgery of my 7-year-old son very successfully. In addition, my teacher Surhan informed us about everything from the beginning to the end of this process. Whatever we asked about my son's illness, he explained to the smallest detail. Sir Surhan is a very tolerant, smiling, sincere, very sincere and very kind person. It has been 3 months since my son had surgery. Thank God, he is very healthy. May Allah be pleased with my teacher Surhan, may he not let a stone touch his feet. Thank you very much for everything, Sir, Surhan, I'm glad to have you.
